What happens between our lives ?

Michael Newton, Ph.D., started as a California state-certified Master Hypnotherapist. He is the renowned author of several groundbreaking books on the subject of past life regression: Journey of Souls (1994), Destiny of Souls (2000), and more recently, Life between lives (2004). He is also the editor of Memories of the Afterlife (2009), which includes a host of case studies written by members of his growing network of Life Between Lives therapists.

As Newton recounts in the featured interview, being rather sceptical by nature and with no particular religious background, it is almost by accident that he got involved in the experience of exploring these uncharted territories. His patients originally resorted to hypnosis in order to relieve persistent trauma-induced pains. It is the consistency of their reports concerning the “spirit world” which brought him to seriously investigate issues related to the immortality of the soul, the afterlife and past lives.

Newton has spent some forty years of his life researching the field, and the results are indeed worth reflecting upon. In the video excerpts presented here, he delivers important conclusions he has reached through personal experience. He reflects on what he believes are the most crucial issues in life: the meaning of our presence on Earth, the possibility of a future life in a spiritual world, the existence of soul groups and the moral implications of living several lives. Interestingly enough, he seems less interested in past lives themselves, as in the state in which the soul finds itself when it is hanging between two lives—a situation which he describes as “life between lives”.

The cases reported by Michael Newton are numerous, displaying consistent and recurrent patterns. Some of them are in striking accord with Ostad Elahi’s views regarding the intermediate world, particularly the key idea that our present life is only a transitory phase, that the world is an educational opportunity where the soul can prepare itself to make the best of its next life.

I am so happy that this article consisted of videos. After reading the book, I remember searching for Dr. Newton on youtube and not being successful at finding one video. And now, here is an extensive interview. Couldn’t be happier.

Thank you for posting yet another fascinating article, I had enjoyed reading Michael Newton’s book “Journey of Souls” some years ago. Once again revisiting his work through these videos and the similarity of some of his experiences to the teachings of Ostad Elahi on such topics as successive lives and the intermediate world was a refreshing reminder of the main reason for my existence on earth and the reason for having to deal with life’s ever changing scenarios that can be very challenging and exhausting at times! I find most of the topics covered in his videos as major visual and imaginative complements that make such spiritual topics more tangible to grasp in the material realm of everyday life and my journey on earth as a school and learning ground for the soul.

I especially enjoyed his experiences regarding “the Soul groups and level of development”, “Learning lessons and improving”, “Choosing a body in order to fulfill certain lessons we come to accomplish on earth” and his idea on the increased responsibility we have as we advance as souls. I found plenty of food for thought regarding “how we have treat others” and “what have we done for others”.

I look forward to reading more of his work; it would so wonderful for him to publish more videos on his work!

    Thank you for sharing.

These are great interviews. When Dr Newton speaks of the forgiveness and gentle nature of the next world, it is very reassuring, and also reminds me of what I need to do while I am still in this world.

    Thank you for sharing.

What do we take with us into the next world? In this great interview Dr Newton says about forgiveness and the gentle nature of the next world but forgiveness does not come easy for most of us. Our natural instinct is to recoil in self-protection when we’ve been injured.
Is forgiveness a conscious choice, or an emotional choice?
Forgiveness is not easy for us. It’s not a one-time choice and then we automatically live in a state of forgiveness. Forgiveness may require a lifetime of forgiving, but it is important for us to continue forgiving until the matter is settled in our heart.
When we do forgive, it automatically sets our hearts free from the anger, bitterness, resentment and hurt that previously imprisoned us. We need great interviews like these.
    Thank you.

Thank you for the interviews. I am reading Dr. Newton’s books. The “Barzakh” (intermediate world) described by Ostad Elahi and the “Spirit World” described by Michael Newton have many similarities. The only portion in Dr. Newton’s perspective that I do not agree with is coming back into different genders. Somehow, I cannot digest that well.
